CHANNEL MANAGER Β· DISTRIBUTION Β· 7 MIN READ
Good integration clearly describes what changes are sent, when they are confirmed, and what is done when the channel returns an incomplete or late response.
1. Define entities and mapping rules
Units, rate plans, availability, restrictions and bookings need identifiable records in both systems. Before writing code, agree how to handle data that exists in only one system or that a channel returns in a different format.
2. Pricing and availability follow different workflows
Price changes, minimum stays, closed dates and inventory updates may follow different rules and priorities. Separating these responsibilities makes monitoring easier and reduces unclear manual corrections in operations.
3. Plan for recovery that your team can monitor
The operations team must be able to see which data was not transferred, for which property and channel, and who can restart processing once the issue is resolved. Silent failures turn an integration into yet another spreadsheet for manual tracking.
